Performances by: Stephanie Pan (curator) Naomie Pieter, Gonçalo Almeida and Astrid van der Velde.
Raw Dates is a new interdisciplinary improvisation series in iii’s program organized by Wen Chin Fu and Riccardo Marogna.

Inspired by the Amsterdam-based Oorsprong series, Raw Dates aims to open a playground for a group of curators to present unexpected and mixed ‘blind date’ lineups in the broadest multi-disciplinary sense. The curator of the first edition will be Raoul van der Weide (founder of Oorsprong series).

Lineups will be social and artistic experiments at work. The audience is presented with a work-in-progress scenario, the process of real time creation. All process, no expectations. The curators, performers and the audience themselves are invited to take their chances, risks, and trust the results.

Curator
Stephanie Pan (vocalist, performer, maker, curator)

Stephanie Pan is a vocalist, performance artist, maker, and multi-instrumentalist currently based in The Hague, the Netherlands. At the root of her work is the notion of pure communication; finding a form of contact with the audience which is stripped of social expectations and distractions, that speaks beyond the conventional and social limitations and constructs of language. A mutating combination of theater/performance art/experimental music/improvisation/controlled chaos/pop music/classical music, her work is visceral, passionate and intense, and often explores the limits of the body and voice.

Ms. Pan received her Masters in Theatre from DasArts: Advanced Studies in the Performing Arts (AHK), and holds a BA from UC Berkeley in Music and Applied Mathematics, and a First Phase Diploma, with distinction, in Classical Singing from The Royal Conservatory, The Hague.

Naomie Pieter (choreographer, mover, activist)

Intersectional queer and anti-racist activist Naomie Pieter (1990) is the founder of ‘ Pon Di Pride’ and co-founder of ‘Black Queer & Trans Resistance NL’, as well as the founder of Black Pride NL. She is also a leading voice within the Black Lives Matter movement. Having completed her training as a choreographer at Amsterdam’s Academy of Theatre and Dance, Naomie mixes the organization of protest rallies with designing choreographies effortlessly. “Protest is a social choreography. We’re organizing body, space and time.“
