Locations: Nagymaros, PAIKKA Budapest

iii participants: Bjarte Wildeman, Gökay Atabek, Ines DeRu, Kay Churcher, Myra-Ida van der Veen, Rafaele Andrade, Richard Hughes, Tingyi Jiang

iii have selected 8 young artists to participate in a 10-day residency in the woods outside Budapest before presenting their work in Budapest. During this project, 24 emerging artists represented by three art and technology initiatives from Hungary, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic will be exchanging skills and ideas, work together to create an interactive audio-visual installation, and present this installation at a gallery in Budapest.

The main objective of the project is to collectively create an interactive audio-visual device (named ‘kiberdob’) which will help anyone who interacts with it to experience a flow state.

During the first half of the project, we will hold workshops and brainstorming sessions intended to inspire participants to join their expertises and design the kiberdob together to be built in the second half of the project. We will finish the project with a performance in Budapest.

Workshops given by iii participants:

Gökay Atabek – Intro to electronics and crackle box workshop
Myra-Ida van der Veen x Richard Hughes – Stretch Sensor workshop
Yun Lee – The Physicality of Sound from war to healing
Bjarte Wildeman x Ines DeRu x Tingyi Jiang – “As within so without” a movement lab based around the elements

Hosted by I.T.E.M. Alapítvány x Paikka, supported by ERASMUS+ and Creative Industries Fund NL
