10 meters of sound at Rijksmusem Twenthe

Ars longa, vita brevis
June 23, 2018 – May 8, 2021
Rijksmuseum Twenthe, Enschede

Philip Vermeulen‘s 10 meters of sound will be part of the presentation of Rijksmuseum Twenthe’s new collection.

“The museum has invited nine artists to each set up their own hall, making use of the museum’s collection in relation to a new or existing work by the artist. This creates a total of nine successive cabinets in which the artists tell the story of ‘La condition humaine’ with their installations, the human condition in the 21st century.

The nine artists who will set up a cabinet for Ars longa, vita brevis are Bart Hess, LA Raeven, Berend Strik, Philip Vermeulen, Anne Wenzel, Peter Zegveld, Karin Arink, Armando and Siliva B. Their installations follow the different phases of a lifetime. , starting with the desire and in the first room and ending with ‘memento mori’ in the last room. Either human life in nine episodes.”
