Fielding workshop with Till Bovermann

October 21st 2017
14:00 – 18:00
iii workspace, Willem Dreespark 312

Artist in residence Till Bovermann will give a workshop on the topic of “Live Coding and Sonic Wilderness Intervention”

In this workshop, we will explore the surroundings with “Fielding” and try to encounter our environment by means of sound.

Fielding invites non-human beings to shape an artificial soundscape augmentation that is also influenced by human performers. Fielding consists of semi-autonomous Encounter Nodes that are wirelessly interconnected and share a common acoustic basis.

Non-human performers influence Fielding by means of environmental sensors built into the nodes, whereas human performers shape its sonic qualities by forming sentences of a sonic alphabet.

More conceptual background about fielding in this initial blog post. Fielding is a platform for Sonic Wilderness Interventions.

This workshop relies partly on live coding techniques and SuperCollider.
