Kan je geluiden zien of beelden horen? In deze workshop bouw je samen met geluidskunstenaar Dewi de Vree de Grafiet Synthesizer, waarmee je muziek kan maken door te tekenen.
De grafiet synthesizer is een simpel elektronisch instrument dat jouw tekeningen kan vertalen in geluid. Na een introductie over basisprincipes van elektronica en geluid, ga je in duo’s een instrument maken en experimenteren met verschillende tekeningen.
Hoe klinkt een korte of een lange lijn, cirkels of een patroon van vierkante vlakken? En hoe klinken alle tekeningen samen? Aan het einde van de workshop gaan we een improvisatie maken met alle instrumenten samen.
Voor deze workshop heb je geen voorkennis van elektronica nodig en je hoeft niet te solderen.

Can you see sounds or hear images?
Together with sound artist Dewi de Vree you will build an electronic instrument that can make music through drawings. The Graphite Synthesizer is a simple electronic instrument that can translate your drawings into sound. After an introduction to the basic principles of electronics and sound, you will build a graphite synthesizer and experiment with a variety of drawings.
What does a short line sound like in comparison to a long line? What about circles or square patterns? And how do all these drawings sound like together? At the end of the workshop we will improvise together with all the instruments.
This is a fun electronics project suitable for children between 9 and 12. No prior knowledge of electronics nor solder-skills are required for this workshop.
