It is crucial for artists, creative people, entrepreneurs and researchers to have the time and space to try things out. Residencies and workshops are safe places that often revolve around experimentation. In recent months however, many artists have had to revise their plans due to international travel restrictions.
As part of Brussels based festival ‘Media Culture: Fast Forward‘ this “Meet the Makers” session will address the aforementioned challenge utilising digital technology. Lissa Kinnaer will be talking to artists (Matteo Marangoni, An Mertens, Jo Caimo and Vanessa Brazeau) about their experiences and opinions. What role will digital technology play in their creative process? What is their experience with online residencies? How do they see the role of art, media and technology when re-imagining our society?
