During Sonic Acts Academy 2020, Philip Vermeulen will premier his immersive sensorial work “More Moire”. In a panoramic Ganzfeld room without horizons or any anchorpoint, Philip has created an immersive filmic experience where he once again puts the visitor’s senses to the test. Inspired by the work of light artists such as James Turrell and Doug Wheeler, Philip plays with human perception. In a virtual abstract landcape made of light, sound and the moving moiré patterns, he lets the world emerge and crumble. Vermeulen investigates the tension between physicality of the material and the weightless digitality of its patterns. More Moire forces a reset of the senses and fuels awareness of one’s own material existence.
