Sound Explorers is an online workshop where participants will create an imaginative world. This world will consist of sounds created with our voices. Guided by artist Nina Essendrop we will go on an adventure in our imaginative sound-world.
The goal of this workshop is to come together through art. It is an attempt to counter social isolation and bring togetherness in current times.

What is going to happen:
The focus during the first hour of the workshop will be on creating and introducing our imaginative environment. We will create our own world and express them through sounds made with our mouth and voice. This exercise will follow up with a short break. In the second part of the workshop we will connect our imaginative sound-world together and go on a journey through a newly formed landscape of sound.
The workshop is using tools from LARP (Live Action RolePlay), but requires no former experience, as each step will be carefully guided by the artist. The guidance will be in slow and clear English. For participating in this workshop it is necessary to have a basic understanding of the English language. Speaking English is not required. Between participants Dutch can be spoken if preferred.
The workshop is organised by iii in collaboration with Kubes. Stiching KUBES is a voluntarily-run organisation. Their goal is to stimulate the participation of the blind and visually impaired to the cultural landscape. KUBES tries to accomplish this goal via different routes. They host monthly excursions and yearly cultural weekends. They also give advise and information to groups and institutions. Every year they organise an exposition featuring work of blind and visually impaired artists.
This program receives financial support from The Municipality of The Hague.
