Artist-in-residence Kexin Hao will lead a workout in collaboration with Ludmila Rodrigues that translates hand-powered labour into choreographed dance movements. This workout will be choreographed collectively with participants and takes inspiration from their own work experience, and from moving bodies on fields, in factories, and along railways.
The dance moves created in this workout will later be used in a following event on March 26 where participants will create a game using motion sensors. It is recommended but not necessary for participants to take part in both events.
About Kexin Hao
Kexin Hao is a visual artist and designer born in Beijing and based in Rotterdam. Her practice is a marriage of graphic design and autonomous projects involving performance and public engaging art. Kexin’s work is a constant swing between an intimate close-up on personal stories and a zooming-out of collective narratives; between a past of political weight and flashy modernity rendered in humour and sarcasm.

About Ludmila Rodrigues
Ludmila Rodrigues operates as an artist, scenographer, workshop leader and sometimes performer, at the intersection of architecture, dance, and ritual. Her choreographic objects and spatial interventions become an interface to activate the senses and explore relations of vulnerability and agency. Through these performative situations Rodrigues interrogates how art can create a place beyond the conscious domain, engendering affective and social transformation.
