Audiosfera- Pre y post-internet
October 14 – January 11, 2020-21
Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid ES
Yolanda Uriz, Wen Chin Fu, Marije Baalman and Matteo Marangoni will be presenting works at Audiosphere exhibition curated by Francisco Lopez.
Social experimental audio, pre- and post-Internet propose to cover a historical and cultural void regarding the recognition, exhibition, and analysis of an essential part of the recent changes that have taken place in the artistic conception of sound creation.
Conceived from a social perspective, with the aim of revealing and providing a context for reflection and discussion on the technocultural changes that have occurred since the 1980s, the exhibition will present the work of a large number of experimental sound artists, originating from various parts of the world, most of which are unknown to the contemporary art public.
The exhibition will be organized around seven sections that address different social, technological, historical and cultural processes: genealogies, networks, mega-accessibility, cyborgization, stetogenic, recombination, and rights. These processes have been generated collectively and are widespread today, but have not been properly identified, recognized or analyzed artistically.
Audiosphere tries to be a large-scale non-conceptual contemporary art exhibition without images or objects, supported solely by sound works and an exhibition design that facilitates listening at an experiential, deep and prolonged level.
