The Hague based visual artist Ana Lemnaru and musician Grzegorz Marcinak will develop a collaborative work in cooperation with 3 invited guests. Together they will work on “Digging Piece”, a performative installation involving natural and electronic sounds merged with participative aspects of labour. The piece will be presented at the Zandmotor in cooperation with Satellietgroep and TodaysArt.
Adam Basanta (b. 1985) is a Montreal-based sound artist, composer, and performer. His work traverses sound installations, electroacoustic and instrumental composition, site-specific interventions, and laptop performance.
David Pocknee (1986) is a composer, guitarist and visual artist currently based in the UK. He studied Music at Huddersfield University, graduating with a first in 2008, before moving to The Hague to study at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, receiving Bachelor and Masters degree in Composition.
Maya (Giovannina Luigia) Verlaak is a Belgian composer (born in Ghent, 1990). In 2008 she moved to the Netherlands to study at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague (NL) and since October 2015 is pursuing her Phd in Birmingham (UK). Maya works both with existing instruments and new instruments that she builds herself. Humor is an important part of her artistic process, both from a compositional standpoint and a performer’s view.
