Der Teufel leise, Faust

Matteo Marangoni
Quiet Ensemble

2013

In this version of Faust, the theatre becomes a living instrument, orchestrating and enacting the performance itself through technical apparatuses.

The theatre as a space of representation is shown to the audience free of its conventional representative systems: the lights illuminate the void, the stage hosts the absence of actors, the speakers make audible their own silence and the carcass of the space, emptied of its humanity, reveals the absence of soul.
